Looking Back at Round 1 of UCS and Ligier JS CUP France

From July 5 to 7, the famous Dijon-Prenois circuit hosted the fourth round of the Funyo Sprint Cup. This track, both technical and fast, combined with unpredictable weather conditions, made for an exciting race weekend. Despite these challenges, the Syselcom Racing Team once again shone, adding several podiums to their record.

Our drivers were more determined than ever to secure podiums during this crucial weekend. After excellent practice sessions, Hugo, Sacha, and Sean approached the qualifying rounds with confidence. At the end of the first session, Hugo secured second place, closely followed by Sacha in third, and Sean in seventh. A solid performance that boosted their confidence heading into the second qualifying session.

This second session, held under rainy conditions, didn’t slow our drivers down. Despite the tough conditions, Sacha grabbed third place, Sean finished fifth, and Hugo climbed to sixth. A promising result for the rest of the weekend!

Race 1

Challenges for Hugo, a fierce battle for Sean and a podium for Sacha !

Despite a technical issue, Hugo had to start from fourteenth place, while Sacha, ideally positioned on the front row, got off to an excellent start. Meanwhile, Sean was determined to secure a podium that seemed within reach.

After five intense laps, Sacha held firmly in third place, while Sean fought hard to climb onto the podium, staying just short in fourth. Meanwhile, despite an impressive comeback to tenth place, Hugo’s efforts were undone by an off-track excursion, leaving him to finish in a disappointing seventeenth position.

After a hard-fought battle, Sean narrowly missed out on the podium, finishing fourth, while Sacha, steady and determined, secured a fantastic third place, earning the team their first podium of the weekend!

Race 2

A chaotic start and another podium for Sacha !

Everything looked promising for our three drivers, with Sacha in third position, Sean in fifth, and Hugo in sixth. Each was aiming for the podium in what promised to be an exciting race.

Right from the start, chaos ensued. Sacha managed to hold onto third place, while Sean dropped back one position. For Hugo, the troubles continued as he fell to ninth place. By the fourth lap, Sacha picked up the pace and gained a position, inching closer to victory. Meanwhile, Sean lost ground, falling to eighth, while Hugo began a strong comeback, climbing to seventh place.

The race ended with a surge from Sean, who fought back to finish fifth. Hugo finished solidly in seventh, but the star of the day was Sacha, who secured his second consecutive podium with a brilliant second-place finish!

Race 3

A perfect Weekend for Sacha, ups and downs for Sean and Hugo

Sacha, full of confidence after his two podiums, started from third place, closely followed by Sean in fourth position. Hugo, on the other hand, began from seventeenth place after a challenging weekend.

The start didn’t go as planned for Sacha and Sean, who both lost positions. In contrast, Hugo had an excellent start to the race, quickly moving up to thirteenth place. As the laps went by, our three drivers made a series of overtakes: Sacha regained third place, Sean climbed to fifth, and Hugo rose to eighth position.

However, the second half of the race held a bad surprise for Hugo, who was forced to pit multiple times, relegating him to nineteenth place, which he maintained until the finish. Sean, after a strong battle, ultimately finished sixth.

As for Sacha, he brilliantly defended his third position all the way to the end, marking his third podium of the weekend. A flawless performance for him!

Race 4

Final race of the weekend: Sacha on top, Sean fighting hard, and Hugo unlucky

In this last race of the weekend, Sacha started from second place, Sean in fifth, and Hugo in seventh. From the start, our drivers had a good beginning, securing their positions in the first half of the race. Unfortunately, bad luck continued for Hugo, who fell again to seventeenth place.

Meanwhile, Sean and Sacha remained strong. Sean made progress, climbing to fourth place, while Sacha confidently maintained his second position. In the second half of the race, the battle for the top positions intensified. Sean managed to temporarily rise to third place before dropping back to fourth in the final moments.

As the checkered flag waved, Hugo finished in eighteenth place, Sean secured fourth, and Sacha, once again in commanding form, stepped onto the podium with a fantastic third place, marking his fourth podium of the weekend.

This competitive weekend was marked by ups and downs for the team, but also by impressive performances. Despite his hard efforts, Hugo fell victim to several incidents that compromised his races, but his fighting spirit remained intact. Sean demonstrated great consistency, engaging in multiple battles for the podium, finishing close to the top three on several occasions. As for Sacha, he was the key contributor to the team’s success, achieving four consecutive podiums, once again proving his talent and consistency. It was an emotionally charged weekend for SRT, with a total of four podiums and solid performances that bode well for our drivers’ futures!
