Looking Back at Round 1 of UCS and Ligier JS CUP France

Review of Round 1 of the Ligier JS Cup France at Le Mans

This first round marked our debut participation in the JS Cup France championship. We were therefore very excited about the opportunity to discover this category.

The practice sessions proved challenging, as our brand-new car encountered issues from the very start of the weekend. As a result, we were unable to benefit from much track time during testing.

Qualifying was not easy either and left us starting from 16th position on the grid.

During the race, the team demonstrated remarkable determination, while the drivers steadily worked their way up the field throughout the event. This impressive comeback allowed us to cross the finish line in an excellent 5th place.

A result that we are extremely pleased with for our first appearance in this championship!

Review of Round 1 of the Ultimate Cup Series at Paul Ricard

This opening round of the season at Circuit Paul Ricard also marked the start of our first full championship in the Nova NP02. It was the beginning of a new adventure for the team, with our first full season competing in this category.

The practice sessions went smoothly, with no major issues encountered, although we knew there was still work to be done to fully unlock the car’s potential. Qualifying was satisfactory and allowed us to start from 11th position on the grid.

We made an excellent start, which quickly enabled us to gain several positions. Throughout the race, both the team and the drivers maintained a very strong pace, allowing us to establish ourselves in the Top 5 and fight for an even better result.

Unfortunately, with around thirty minutes remaining, the race was unexpectedly interrupted due to a breakdown of the fuel tanker truck responsible for refuelling operations. This exceptional situation severely impacted our race strategy and compromised our chances of holding our position.

We ultimately finished in 8th place. While the result was not what we had hoped for, it remains an encouraging outcome for the first race of the season and provides us with valuable lessons as we continue our championship campaign.
