Launched in 2019, the Ultimate Cup Series (UCS) endurance championship has quickly become a must-attend event for motorsport enthusiasts. This championship was designed to provide a competitive platform for teams and drivers eager to compete on some of Europe’s most iconic circuits. Within this competition, our NP02 stands out by competing in the European Endurance Prototype Cup category, which highlights European prototypes specifically designed for endurance racing.
The championship calendar is a true tour of the most beautiful European circuits. Drivers have the opportunity to showcase their talent on tracks that are as varied as they are prestigious. Among the highlights of this season are the Circuit Paul Ricard in France, famous for its mix of fast straights and technical corners, as well as the Portimao circuit in Portugal, known for its spectacular elevation changes and complex curves. The season also features Hockenheim, an iconic German circuit with a rich history in Formula 1, Mugello in Italy, recognized for its flowing layout and technical challenges, before returning to France for a finale at Magny-Cours, a technical and demanding circuit that has long hosted the French Grand Prix.
The Ultimate Cup Series season is structured around six events. Five of these feature 4-hour races, allowing teams to demonstrate their ability to maintain a sustained pace over a long period while managing endurance-specific challenges such as fuel consumption, tire wear, and driver fatigue. The sixth event is a 6-hour race, a true test of endurance that pushes teams to their limits. These races are preceded by two 90-minute free practice sessions, giving teams the necessary time to fine-tune their vehicle settings according to the circuit specifics. Then, three 15-minute qualifying sessions allow drivers to battle for pole position, a crucial advantage for approaching the race with an optimal strategy.
The Ultimate Cup Series thus positions itself as a gateway to the most prestigious endurance championships, both at the European and international levels. For many drivers and teams, it is a unique opportunity to prove their worth and attract the attention of organizers of major global competitions. In this sense, the UCS plays a key role in developing the talents and technologies that will fuel future endurance races around the world.
